Featherduster in Africa

The pen is mightier than the sword?

Did the Maasai lesson last night and it is extremely disconcerting to be teaching someone to read whilst he has a very big sword dangling between you!

Anyway, there is potential romantic excitement on the Maasai Mzungu front as one of the Maasai has asked one of the girls to be his girlfriend! Even more exciting is that she is rather keen on the idea! It looks as though Pub Alberto (the hot nightspot in Moshi) is going to be even more exciting than originally planned this Thursday night! Unfortunately for me I have to teach on Friday morning and everyone else has managed to get out of their projects so they will doubtless be boogying to the wee small hours and I will miss all the action!

This means slowly and as anyone who knows me knows, I don’t really do slowly. However, the ladies that I teach, my Swahili teacher, the people where I am staying (which is not the Kitle by the way – not sure if I mentioned that before) are all trying to get me to slow down. I am yet to be convinced but watch this space…
